Bear Viewing & Wilderness Camping Expeditions

Mother Brown Bear and her Spring Cub playing

Small-group expeditions led by experienced Alaska guides, built around bear viewing, photography, and respectful wildlife encounters in genuinely wild country.

We fly into remote terrain and set up low-impact base camps near the meadows, rivers, tundra and tidal flats that bears naturally use. No lodges, no crowds, no fixed schedules — just long northern days to watch, photograph, and learn alongside one of Alaska's most remarkable animals.

Welcome to Curious Nature Guided Adventures

Erica - Naturalist Guide and Owner

I'm Erica Hausfeld, naturalist guide and owner. Sharing Alaska's wilderness and its wildlife — especially brown bears — is a privilege.

I believe in small groups, respectful observation, and learning from the land, whether you're here for photography, wildlife encounters, or simply an unforgettable outdoor adventure. Years of guiding in remote Alaska have shaped how we run our trips — both guides are Wilderness First Responder certified, and our camps are equipped accordingly.

I'm here to guide you on a safe, meaningful experience in some of Alaska's most beautiful landscapes.

Best Wishes,

Erica Hausfeld

Adult Brown Bear Fishing

Respectful Bear Practices

Encounters are guided by the bears themselves. We adapt positioning, timing, and approach so they remain comfortable and continue their natural behavior uninterrupted.

Brown Bear At Sunset

Light, Time & Photography

Alaska’s long summer days give us the freedom to linger, observe bear behavior, and photograph bears as their activity shifts with the changing light.

What Our Guests Are Saying

Eric G., USA

"Our trip was unforgettable, not just because of the amazing wildlife and scenery, but also because of the skill, leadership, and care that Erica and Lance brought to the trip. They kept us safe and calm when viewing the bears, even when the bears approached so closely you could hear them munching on grass and clams!"

Donna B., Texas, USA

"Erica and Lance are always tuned in, aware of where the bears are and what is happening so that you and the bears stay safe, all the while you are getting some incredible pics! The sounds and sights of these bears, especially the mamas and the babies, is like nothing else I've enjoyed before."

Mike W., Alberta, Canada

"We have been on many 'wildlife tours' and we've seen the spectrum of guides. Lets just say, not all align with their advertised personalities. Lance and Erica were world class!"
